Kya Crooke, who recently completed her sophomore year at Heritage Christian High in Indiana and is representing Soca Speed Track Club, placed second in the women's 17-18 division high jump final with a 5-7 (1.70m) clearance on her second attempt at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Crooke cleared 5-9.75 (1.77m) on July 9 at the USATF U20 Championships at Hayward Field to earn a roster spot for the U.S. to compete Aug. 4-6 at the Pan American U20 Championships in Puerto Rico.
